Vision
Microfinance is important for entrepreneurs at the lower end of the market: access to finance services allows them to invest and improve their living conditions. Our aim is to serve these clients efficiently, economically and sustainably. To do so we aim to run MFIs in any country with a functioning mobile payments infrastructure. Our MFIs should be among the most effective and innovative players in the market.Mission statement
Our mission is to serve microfinance clients efficiently and in a user-friendly way, while providing a good return for our stakeholders. Our aim is to set-up and run microfinance institutions, initially in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Our MFIs will be built on tested mobile technology that allows huge savings on transaction costs.Using mobile payments enables clients to receive and perform bank operations anytime anywhere. This saves transport costs, transaction time and increases safety as no cash has to be carried around in sometimes dangerous areas. For our MFIs, mobile payments enables them to make large improvements in loan officer efficiency and will make tracing payments seamless, saving on administration costs. These efficiencies will be passed on to our clients in the form of lower interest rates and to our stakeholders in the form of good returns on investments.
Once our MFIs are up and running in East Africa, we will use our knowledge, experience and global
IT-platform to expand to other countries with a suitable mobile payments environment.
